Description: Evaluated the call center patents of a major equipment vendor to determine their relevance to other technologies. This evaluation demonstrated the patents had relevance in telecommunications that was far beyond call centers. The vendor then pursued enforcing the patents in these new areas.

Project: MPLS Patent Defense
Description: Developed the defense strategy for a start up telecommunications equipment manufacturer when it was sued for multiple patent infringements by a major equipment vendor. The technologies involved included data network routing and routing protocols including MPLS. The work resulted in a highly favorable out of court settlement.
Description: Prepared a rebuttal declaration report in a contract dispute over the definition of the words network, private network, and intranet in a matter where residents of a community contended the developer did not provide the required intranet. The court accepted my definitions.

Description: As an expert, developed technical arguments that cellular service is subject to a gross revenue tax and calculated the back tax owed by cellular carriers for two Missouri cities v several cellular carriers. Prepared reports for the court and was deposed. The cases settled before trial.
