Ron Brown, representing the IEEE Maine Section, was a co-organizer of the Engineering Ambassadors in Maine Program held November 22, 2014 at Texas Instruments in South Portland. The program joined 5th & 6th grade teachers as well as afterschool providers with engineering and biological sciences communities members so each would better understand the others’ profession. The technical professionals were matched with teachers and will go to their classrooms to work a technical project and discuss technical careers with students. The objective of the program is to stimulate interest in technical fields by 5th and 6th students. Program co-sponsors were IEEE, IEEE-USA, Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, and Texas Instruments.
