Description: Performed a market research study and vulnerability analysis for a major telephone company to alternative access carriers. The vulnerability analysis included a hypothetical alternative carrier design and market penetration that demonstrated to the client its high level of vulnerability.

Client: Boston Edison Company

Project: Boston Edison Network Plan Development

Description: Prepared a five year telecommunications plan and implementation program to provide all voice, data, SCADA, office automation, and video communications for Boston Edison Company. The project evaluated the use of fiber and microwave networking between facilities. This project also was the foundation for Boston Edison's equity participation in a Boston area CLEC.

Description: Performed an initial market assessment for CBT to become an alternative carrier in the second-tier city market. This analysis included estimating market sizing, market penetration, capex and opex, and revenue.

Description: Developed a business assessment for a Taunton (MA) Electric to enter the telecommunications business. The project included an assessment of FTTN, FTTC, and FTTH technologies as well as estimations of market share, revenue, operating cost, and profit

Client: Burlington (VT) Electric Department

Project: Burlington Electric Department CLEC Business Plan & Implementation

Description: Provided management and expert guidance to Burlington (VT) Electric Department as it negotiated with carriers for pole access and evaluated its options to work with the embedded CATV company. Directed the procurement of an agreement to partner another firm to develop a new business to provide competitive telephone, data and Internet, and CATV services (the triple play) within the city. Supported negotiations with prospective vendors. Recommended a vendor and provided technical and management guidance to executive management as the business area developed.
